The President of a group calling itself Citizens Watch Ghana, Mr. Citizen Barima Osei a social advocate, has pleaded with the H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffu-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana to focus on his promises to Ghanaians to alleviate the hardship of the citizens.

According to him, the President has no business rebranding and renaming public institutions while his promises are left hanging leaving a burden of hardship on the ordinary Ghanaian. In a phone interview with , he said, it’s for no parochial reason that he has come to make this call on but a wasteful effort as new and incoming political administration would also rename these institutions which is a back and forth movement that has the potential the development of this country.

This call is coming at a time that the Governing Council of the University of Energy and Natural Resource has decided to rename the institution after Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia, Ghana’s prime minister in the second republic.

It can be recalled that Ghana’s seat of Government has been renamed every eight (8) years from Jubilee House to Flagstaff House and to Jubilee House by the NDC and NPP respectively as and when they assume office.

“We, therefore, call on the President to focus his attention on his Campaign Promises which are gradually becoming failed promises because it’s upon those social contracts that we Ghanaians considered before voting for them”, he says.

He, therefore, pleaded with the President to listen and work hard to alleviate the hardship the ordinary Ghanaian face in their daily activities to improve on their standards of living.
