Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Madam Lydia Seyram Alhasan has presented 11 (Eleven) Kia Picanto cars to the constituency for onward distribution to the various electoral areas to be used for Uber services.

This, according to the Member of Parliament forms part of her Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency Entrepreneurship Scheme meant to empower her constituents and provide the unemployed ones with a means of livelihood.

In her address at a ceremony held at Dzorwulu NPP party office to present the cars to her constituents, Madam Lydia Seyram Alhasan recounted that this presentation was part of promises she made to her constituents during the campaigns ahead of the Parliamentary by-elections to create employment for the youths in the constituency. She further reiterated her desire to do more through the provision of soft loans for market women, organizing free skill training in driving through the Constituency’s established Driving school, interior Decoration and other programs that will be rolled out at the constituency’s skills training school.

According to her, part of monies realized from the operation of the Uber cars will be deposited into a welfare account, to be accessed by constituents who may require any form of financial support from the Member of Parliament in the near future.

“I promised to empower you in various ways while focusing on the development of our constituency. We have established a skill training school that will train our constituents in Driving, Catering services, interior decoration, cake making, make-ups, and others. Anybody who is interested should register and get enrolled,” she added.

Madam Lydia Alhasan further mentioned that she will ensure that the constituency receives development that is deserving of the Ayawaso West Wuogon, such as the Tesano road project that is currently ongoing, the ongoing hospital construction in Mempeasem, the Mempeasem road project, the Abelemkpe school construction and others yet to come.
