Sanitation Minister Unveils Advisory Board for Foundation

Deputy Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Hon.  Michael Yao Gyato has unveiled the Advisory Board of the Smiling Heart Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization that seeks to touch hearts by helping the poor and needy.

Speaking at a ceremony re-launch the organization that was established in 2011 and stalled for various reasons, Mr. Gyato stated that it has always been his desire to touch hearts and impact on the lives of the needy, hence the name of the foundation, smiling Heart. According to him, the NGO will offer support to Orphans, Widows, Persons with Disability and the Vulnerable in society.

“If you observed, I was very emotional there. It brings back a lot of emotions and feelings and we think that God is good and if God is good, we need to give back to the needy”, he said.

Chairman for the occasion and Deputy Minister for communication, Hon. George Anda applauded the initiative of his colleague Minister and called on all to support this course and contribute to the ideas of the founder.

The members of the Advisory Board include Hon. Michael Yao Gyato, Founder and Team Lead Promoter and Hawa Dogo Huzumat, the Executive Secretary. Other members include Mrs. Francisca Amoako, Mrs. Benedicta Awusi Atiku, Mr. Patrick Apoya, Mr. Anthony Addae Gyato, Rev. Fr. Joseph Kumah Badu, Mr. Emmanuel Nsiah and Awudu Yakubu Omro Modoc.
