NPP Government Is Committed To Fight Against Inequality – Prof Gyan Baffour

The Minister of Planning who doubles as Member of Parliament for Wenchi in the Bono Region, Prof. George Gyan-Barffour has emphatically said, NPP Government is committed to fighting against inequality and lift more people out of poverty in the country.

Speaking at the National Technical Review Meeting on Inclusive Growth in Accra, Prof. Gyan Barffour explained that, some of the interventions that the government is doing to lift people out of poverty includes Planting for Food and Jobs, One District, One Factory, Free S.H.S, expanding of school feeding programme, etc to support people to lift more people out of poverty.

According to him, these interventions shows that NPP government led by President Nana Akufo Addo is committed to fight against inequality and lift more people to sustain economic grow and maintain social provision.

He said this follow-up Inclusive Growth and Development Forum process in 2019 is important to review progress on the initiatives observations identified in the previous meetings, especially in the context of the Voluntary National Reporting on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akoffo-Addo is very much in tune with this realization hence in just about every area of the economy specific initiatives have been developed with implementation. Specific mention can be mentioned of the Nation Builders Corp, Zongo Development Fund, Free Senior High School and the revamping of the NHIA,” Prof Gyan Baffour said.

Prof. Gyan Barffour, therefore, urged the government agencies, CSOs, MMDAs, stakeholders and individuals to support the government’s vision and make sure that this generation, no one is left behind.

“We must ensure that in this our generation, no one is left behind by virtue of age, location, social conditions, economic background or physical attributes. We should crave to create prosperity, equal opportunity for all, building one nation, one future and a common destiny,” Prof Gyan Baffour added.
