Embattled Alhassan Salifu Bawah who prides himself as a son of a peasant farmer and spokesperson for Reverend Anthony Afful Broni has suddenly placed himself in house arrest as a means of swerving the Ghc1m defamation suit that hangs on his neck like an albatross.

Information available indicates that the once loud and flashy lecturer of the University of Education, Winneba has gone into hiding to avoid being served by the Bailiff from the Accra High Court. Alhasan Bawah was sued together with Modern Ghana and two other employees in a joint suit filed by Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency over defamatory publications authored and published by the defendants against Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markins.

A Bailiff from the High Court in Accra stormed his residence yesterday 12th September 2019 for service on all efforts to get Alhasan Bawah have been unsuccessful. Our sources say the ostentatious lecturer has employed overt means to frustrate the service, thereby locking himself up in his room all day.

“The bailiff reported to the plaintiff how Alhassan Bawah through strenuous means has avoided being served for appearance. He has since 1pm locked himself in his own room and rendered himself a prisoner for fear of being served by the officer of the court”, he said.
