Her ladyship Janet Anima Marfo sitting as a Vocation Judge at the Winneba High Court yesterday 25th September, 2019 at 9:00am called for the hearing of an application for Contempt filed against the Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, Rev. Prof. Afful-Broni and some other senior members of the University,
The other contemnors include Mr. Paul Osei-Berima, the Registrar, Mr. Francis Obeng, Finance Officer and Alhasan Salifu Bawa, a lecturer of the university.
When the clerk called the case for hearing, lawyer for the Defendants, Paa Kwesi Abaidu presented a letter through his clients to the court, seeking an adjournment of the hearing to October, 22nd or 26th 2019.
The Judge subsequently accepted 22nd October as the new date for the hearing of the substantive contempt suit.
Lawyer for plaintiff C.A Chambers finally accepted the 22nd October, 2019. The plaintiff Mr. Bruno Chirani and respondent were all present.
Following the defiant of an application for a restraining order filed by Bruno Chirani, former Ag. Finance Officer of the University of Education, Winneba, Mr. Bruno Chirani filed an application for Contempt at the High Court against the four defendants.
In the said restraining order, the petitioner was praying the court to grant a restraining order to prevent Mr. Francis Obeng, the unlawfully appointed Finance Officer of the university from holding himself as such or acting as Finance Officer.
