4 Tanker Trucks at Buipe burns, 3 People Hospitalised

Four Tanker trucks with fuel parked at the Tanker Park of the Bulk Oil Storage (BOST) at Buipe in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region got burned after they were caught in fire with three people hospitalised in related accidents.

Reasons for the fire which engulfed the four Tanker trucks that got burnt is not known but it is being speculated two of the tanker trucks crashed igniting the fire.

Three people have been hospitalised so far. Two residents of Buipe who are said to have fallen down injuring themselves as they were running away from the scene were admitted at the Buipe Poli- Clinic while a third person who is a drivers mate has been transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi but the reason for his tranfer to a major hospital is not yet known.

People panicked and fled from their tanker trucks, homes and shops near the BOST Depot area until Fire Fighters arrived at the scene to control the fire.

Initial reports said the Bulk Oil Storage (BOST) Depot at Buipe was on fire but it turned out Tanker trucks carrying fuel rather caught fire.

The BOST Depot at Buipe is not affected.
