President Akuffu-Addo is scheduled to Commission the newly procured 307 ambulances on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.
The ceremony will take place at the Black Star Square in Accra.
This is in fulfilment of Government’s quest to improve health delivery in the country. It is also estimated that about 4,000 jobs are expected to be created through National Ambulance Service.
The 307 ambulances were procured under the Ministry of Special Development Initiatives One-Constituency -One Ambulance initiative under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Program (IPEP).
The commissioning has had to be postponed from its initial date of 6th January, 2020 due to a request by the National Ambulance Service seeking extensions to enable it complete Training of Staff and Paramedics and the installation of state of the art devices needed for modern Ambulance Services.
