The Clergy must play an active role in Church building and focus on the members– Mr. David Ayi Hammond
The speaker of the Bible society Ghana Mr. David Ayi Hammond has urged the church to work closely with God to build and ensure church cohesion and developmen.
He said, The Clergy has a greater role to play in shaping the minds of the people and redirecting their efforts in transforming and building a church that stands tall among other church’s.”
According to him, the clergy also had a duty to help the church cope with difficulties they may encounter in their daily lives as they stuck with their faith and beliefs.
Mr. David Hammond said this in a speech read during a lecture organised at the Methodist church Ghana.
The celebration was held on the It topic, “60 years of the church’s dedication; and the role of the clergy and laity in Disciple making in our digital age”.
The programme also aimed at celebrating the heros of the Methodist Church who had passed on some years ago.
Mr. David Hammond recounted the immense contributions made by the Church in Ghana’s developmental process.
“As you celebrate your 60 years, we cherish the contributions you have made as a church to our national development.”
Mr. David Hammond tasked the church members to find ways of absorbing those engaged in church in order to create understanding spillovers and urged the church to support with resources to create understanding for the church members.
“We, as a church, support everybody in that direction, and can assure the members of our prayers in all other ways to end this menace”.
