The African Development Bank, African Union Commission, along with the Government of Lesotho will have a dinner for the African Leaders for Nutrition(ALN) on the sidelines of the upcoming 33rd African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Dinner which will be held on Saturday February 8, 2002 will present the continents leaders with an opportunity to draft recommendations for the Tokyo 2020 Nutrition for Growth Summit scheduled for December 2020 in Japan.
“It brings together heads of states, finance ministers and eminent leaders to raise awareness and reinforce investment by African governments to end malnutrition and promote good health among children”.
According to a press released Solange Kamuanga-Tossou, Communication Officer of the AfDB, it stated that the dinner is expected to provide update on the status of nutrition in Africa, progress made, lessons gained and spotlight on impact of nutrition programs to be emulated.
The dinner will also enable the ALN prepare a preliminary communique to inform the roadmap for the 2020 Nutrition for Growth Summit in Tokyo, Japan.
