Ketasco 67th Founders Day Lecture On Waste Management Challenges Held In Accra

The 67th Founders’ day anniversary celebration was Organised by the Old Students, the Board and management of Keta Secondary School.

The event was Graced by the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Mohammed Adjei Sowah and other stakeholders from the sanitation ministry and other important dignitaries.
The event was Chaired by Dr. Mrs. Bridget Kastriku.
In her acceptance address, She expressed appreciation to the planning committee for giving her the opportunity to chair the event.

Dr. Kastriku further stated that management of waste in Ghana is a primarily responsibility of the citizens as a whole, charging that it is the responsibility of every citizen to protect the environment.

“If people are not educated more on civil responsibilities, no matter the number of seminars we have the city will still be unclean”.
Also charged the Accra Major to do more arrest to deter people from littering around.

The Major of Accra, Hon. Sowah, thanked the event organizers for such an event.

“This government has made massive interventions to curb sanitation challenges in nation and Accra the big city to be precise”, Hon. Sowah.
He said his office have made progress in liquid waste management recounting how waste in the metropolis is being managed and recycled in some cases.

“By the year 2010 as the results of bad waste management , we were recording 17,000tons of waste which lead to 1,000 people losing their lives in the city”. He added.

The event came to a climax with vivid education to the participants.
