The Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has, on Saturday, 7th March, 2020, led his constituents in a tree planting exercise.
The exercise which covers the entire constituency is meant to plant as many royal plants as possible.
The aim is to beautify the constituency with the view to enhancing its tourism potential as well as creating employment opportunities for the teeming youth in the communities across the Effutu Municipality.
The tree planting exercise forms part of the recently launched Effutu Dream by Honourable Afenyo-Markin to reignite the energies in the youth to build themselves economically and also help the constituency to develop at a faster rate.
Themed “Make Effutu a Royal Palm City”, the Member of Parliament, in a recent radio interview spoke about the rationale behind the initiative.
He stressed that countries, cities and towns outside Ghana and Africa have made tourism their mainstay due to the attentions they paid to such initiatives.
Such places, he emphasized, have grown their economies using tourism which included lining their streets with ornamental crops.
Honourable Afenyo-Markin planted the first royal plant after which the other participants vigorously got to work.
