Deputy Minister for Health, Hon. Tina Mensah has disclosed that Government through the Scholarship Secretariat is spreading its tentacles to make scholarship facilities available to Free Senior High Schools products who will be graduating this year.
According to the Deputy Minister of Healthbwho made this revelation at the 75th Anniversary Launch of the Nursing and Midwifery College, Korle-Bu, in light of the numbers expected to graduate from Senior High School, the president intends to create more opportunities for Students who are coming out of Senior High schools to acquire requisite Knowledge, Skills and Competencies in tertiary Institutions.
Speaking at the launch as the Special Guest, the Deputy Minister acknowledged the role Korle-Bu NMTC has played over the years by distinguishing itself since its humble beginning through ispirinv lifelong learning and transforming lives through education over the last Seven Decades.
“NMTC Korle-Bu is the most prestigious institutions for training Nurses and Midwives in Ghana and is recognized internationally as one of the foremost centers of academic excellence in the Subregion” she said.
Honourable Tina Mensah also used the opportunity to entreat parents to continue to provide for their wards even as government continues to pay nursing trainee allowances.
“The ministry will continue to pursue innovative and human policies that will stand the test of time, taking into consideration the current financial constraints we all face as a nation. Together we will build the necessary synergies to ensure that all training institutions deliver to the best of their capacity”.
