President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffu-Addo has revoked the appointment of Hon. Gilbert Asmah as Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa-Nsuam with immediate effect.
In his replacement, Mr. Benjamin Kessei has been nominated by the president.
The reason for the revocation of Hon. Gilbert Ken Asmah’s appointment was not stated. He is however expected to hand over to the Regional Minister, who will act as an Chief Executive until the appointment of Mr. Benjamin Kessie is confirmed by Assembly Members of the Municipality.
In the letter sighted by Topnewsgh.com, signed by the Hon. Hajia Alima Mahama and coppied to the Secretary to the President, the Chief of Staff, Secretary to the Vice President, Chairperson of the Electoral Comission and the Regional Electoral Commissioner of the Western Region, to the Regional Minister is expected to liase with the Regional Electoral Commissioner to conduct the confirmation process of the nominated Chief Executive.
However, reports coming in indicates that residents of Tarkwa-Nsuam may not take this decision likely as the Hon. Gilbert Ken Armah has won the hearts of many in the district.
