Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Hon Andy Appiah Kubi, has cut sod for the construction of an ultramodern community centre for the people of Juansa in his constituency.
The multi functional project is being fully funded by the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas Company, Dr Ben K.D Asante, who is a native of the town.
Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of the community centre, which was held at the project site, the MP who eulogized Dr Ben K.D Asante, who is funding the project for his benevolent gesture, noted that, owing to the lack of a community centre for the Juansa township, the townsfolk were/are compelled to make do with an open space for a number of community activities.
However, the renowned Oil and Gas engineer, felt that the current situation was very inconvenient especially when it rains, thereby necessitating his decision to construct an ultramodern community centre befitting the status of Juansa township which has produced great men in the history of Asante Akyem.
The new edifice when completed will have a vehicle parking area, seats which can host a larger number of people, and other amenities.
The MP, in line with his social contract with the people, spoke about the other projects which are currently underway in the town which included the construction of internal township roads, the rehabilitation of the Primary School project, Construction of a modern ICT centre among others and also reiterated his resolve to build Police Station for the Juansa community.
Hon Andy Appiah Kubi, standing in for the Ghana Gas CEO, used the occasion to thank the community and the Chiefs for providing them the land for the project and also used the opportunity to educate the Community on the need to get involved in raising Juansa township to the pedestal it deserves.
