Information coming from very reliable source within the National Identification Authority indicates that NIA will soon announce a new date for the commencement of card issuance across the country.
According to circular issued to District Registration Officials and District Registration Supervisors, the Authority is expected to reschedule the exercise to Wednesday June 10, 2020 after a careful review of its preparedness for the initially announced date of Monday June,8,2020.
In an effort to make available Ghana Cards for registered applicants across the country, the National Identification Authority had intended to begin issuance of Ghana Card to citizens effective Monday 8th June, 2020 through 5,635 centers across all 16 Region of Ghana.
However, there seem to be some delay in the preparedness of the Authority towards the exercise begining on Monday, hence the reasons for the rescheduled date.
This nationwide exercise will enable enable the National Identification Authority issue all 11,062,850 Ghana Cards to Ghanaians possess in order for them vouch for unregistered relatives who are yet to register for their Ghana Cards.
