President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has from yesterday, July 4, 2020, taken a 14- day self Isolation.
According to a statement released by Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, this decision was made upon advice of doctors after someone in the President’s close Circle had tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.
Despite testing negetive for the virus, the President is further self Isolating because of what the statement refered to as “abundance of Caution”.
“He has, as at today, tested negetive, but he has elected to take this measure out of the abundance of Caution”.
The statement further stated that, while self Isolating, the President will be working from the President Villa in the Jubilee House.
With the loss of prominent persons in government testing positive for the virus and the unfortunate demise of some of such persons, the President’s decision can be considered proactive in the fight against the spread of the virus.
