The New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate for Tema Central Yves Hanson-Nortey Nii Noi in his quest to be elected as the party’s Parliamentary Candidate in the December 2020 polls has reiterated his quest to empower a segment of his constituents who fall under the informal sector with the constituency
The Parliamentary Candidate as part of his Door to Door Campaign assured petty traders, artisans, beauticians, and other small and medium scale businesses operators to rally behind the New Patriotic Party in the December polls in order to give him the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo another mandate to spearhead policies that would influence their activities directly.
The informal sector he acknowledged form a significant portion of the population of Tema Central though the constituency is predominantly an industrial hub and however promised to complement the various intervention currently in place by the government to enable majority of these entrepreneurs benefit from the government.
“We would engage these traders, artisans and entrepreneurs as a way of finding some meaningful solutions on how to improve their access to the existing financial and capacity support from government during my tenure” he explained in his interactions
He said the NPP Government had supported a significant number of people through Masloc soft loans and COVID 19 business supports to SMEs and promised to tailor a constituency based informal empowerment support program for his constituents.
The Parliamentary Candidate has already began a driver work to own car policy which has so far empowered over hundred and fifty constituents which he has promised to replicate in other spheres of the informal sector to improve the living standards of the constituents.
