Former President John Dramani Mahama has criticized the media of doing a bad job in holding the Akufo-Addo Administration accountable in the fight against corruption.

The former president in an Interview with Adom TV opined that the media has behaved in the past 3 years as though it is not seeing or seem unconcerned with the corrupt practices and the attempts of government to shield individuals involved is such acts.

According to the former president, it will be in the interest of the Akufo-Addo administration to deal with incidences of corruption in his administration than allow another government deal with them.

“The easiest form of fighting corruption is prosecuting members of previous administration, but what is more difficult is dealing with persons in your own government, that is a mark of courage in the fight against corruption”, he said.

He further accused President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of not having the courage to fight corruption in his regime, claiming that the office of the Special prosecutor has a pile load of cases he hasn’t been prosecuted because he is being prevented from doing so.

Mr. John Mahama also promised that his next administration will provide enough funding to the office of the Special prosecutor to effectively fight corruption to seriously serve as a detterent to others who will want to engage in corrupt practices within his government.

“When I come, I will warn all my appointees against engaging in fishy deals, making them aware that when this man get hold of them, I cannot be in the position to save them”.
