Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) has held a meeting with players in the Garment and Textiles industry to increase investment and partnership through Foreign Direct Investment.
The program, was held today, Wednesday November 4 ,2020 at Silicon Production House, Accra
The meeting creates a platform for the Ghana Investment Promotion Center, stakeholders in the garment and textiles industry, Association of Ghana Apparel Manufacturers (AGAM), Sleek Garment LTD and others to delibrate on the appropriate ways to boost the industry by investments and partnerships.
Key among the issues discussed are industry insights and policies, finding practical solutions to challenges peculiar to the Ghanaian textile and garment industry as well as exploring the essence of the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement to the industry.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr Yofi Grant,the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GIPC said “Ghana’s garments and textiles industry is an age old one, with budding potential for revenue generation and jobs creations and we have to protect it for our won works”.
Speaking about partnerships, Mr. Grant encouraged industry players to take advantage of mergers to be able to grow the industry and be able to compete with the global players.
He concluded by pledging GIPC’s continues support for promoting the industry and create more Space for the manufacturing industry’s to have their works promoted.
