EC Replies Minority, Promises to look into Petition


The Electoral Commission Chairperson, Madam Jane Mensah has apologized to the minority for the inability of the Commision to meet the Minority side of Parliament to receive their petition.

In a letter responding to the Minority Leader and duely received on 23rd December, 2020, the Commision promised to study the petition of the Minority and respond as it remains committed to resolving issues arising from the just ended election.

The Minority Caucus of Parliament on Monday 21st December, 2020 organized a walk from Parliament house to the Electoral Commission Head Quarters to present a petition to the Chairperson of the Election organizing body.

But upon arrival at the ECs office, after a tough confrontation with police the delegation could not meet the any of the commissioners to receive their petition, a situation that angered the Minority members of Parliament.

The Techiman South Constituency election result is one of the areas that members of the National Democratic Congress believe it won and is calling for a recolation of Parliamentary results from that constituency.
