Bishop Samuel Owusu, United Nations Peace Ambassador to Ghana has expressed appreciation to President Akufo-Addo for the decision of government to absorb COVID-19 testing fees for all Ghanaians.
Weeks ago, Bishop Owusu appealed to government to consider free testing of all Ghanaians to control the spread and ensure early detection.
With the second wave of the virus spreading faster within the country, it has become important to eliminate all barriers that will deter persons from using the medical facility as the first point of call, hence the decision by government.
The Peace Ambassador, who applauded the decision by the President stated that this will help contact tracing and ensure a timely reduction in the number of active cases in the country.
He further cautioned Ghanaians against letting their guards down, advising all to adhere to the Safety Protocols of Mask wearing, Social distancing, and washing of hands with soap under running water.
